Team for Arsenal
May be a bit early but I'm bored at work so what the hell. I'd be tempted to revert to 5 at the back for this but MP clearly doesn't want to do that so:

Fabianski
Fredericks
Balbuena
Diop
Cresswell

Rice
Wilshere

Masuaku
Anderson
Yarmolenko

Arnautovic

Also may be tempted to have a 3rd battling midfielder in there as this may well be a game we don't see much of the ball, but I think Arsenal's defence is there for the taking at the moment so should go for it! try and kick-start our season.

Re: Team for Arsenal
If we play 4-4-2 as is to be believed, looking at another 4 goal defeat and confidence severely tested, we ain’t got the full backs to play that way.
4-2-3-1 we might make a game of it but apparently he doesn’t like 2 holding, stubborn bugger.

Four changes according to ExWhu, with two starting for the first time this season. So how about:

Fabianski

Fredericks
Diop
Ogbonna
Masuaku

Sanchez
Wilshere

Antonio
Arnie
Anderson

Chicharito

If so, there's a lot of pace on the counter. We're gonna win 3-4.

Pel has to show he knows what he is doing today. I just want to see some commitment and a team performance today, losing will not hurt but doing it without creating chances and challenging them will.

Re: Team for Arsenal
Altho not vital obviously, I’ll be interested how much possession we have against a team like Arsenal compared to how little we used to have the ball in recent seasons. What with our new passing system

Re: Team for Arsenal
Having said after the Bournemouth match they still had last season in the backs of their minds time surely to get the new guys in and have some pace in the side. Fredericks and Rice must get a run and not be dropped because we lost one match! Would like to see Diop too.

If it’s a back four we can only hope Masuaku is as far away from the Emirates as possible.

Re: Team for Arsenal
If EX is correct and there are indeed 4 changes then my guess would be:

Diop in for Balbeuna

Either Obiang or Sanchez in for Noble

Yarmolenko in for either Snodgrass or Hernandez

Those would be the 3 obvious ones to come in.

Cresswell or Fredericks might be the 4th one to come in?

Re: Team for Arsenal
Agreed that Stubbo has most likely nailed it

Will be a big shout if Diop and Balbuena start at centre half together but in fairness we can’t get worse defensively than we have been.

Re: Team for Arsenal
Stubbo - I reckon you've called it right. Yarmolenko has to start. Obiang rather than Rice, though I would hope Rice is at least restored to the bench. I would think Diop will come in for Ogbonna, who has looked really ponderous, for me.
